Atlantic Beach

Located in Northeast Florida, the City of Atlantic Beach is a small Oceanside community of roughly 13,500 residents.  The city is part of a group of beaches commonly known as the Jacksonville Beaches.  The three beaches – Jacksonville Beach, Neptune Beach and Atlantic Beach – remained quasi-independent in 1968 when the City of Jacksonville consolidated many of its communities. Like the two other beach cities, it maintains its own municipal government, however residents still vote in the Jacksonville mayoral election and have representation on the Jacksonville city council.

This beautiful Oceanside city is bounded to the east by the Atlantic Ocean, to the west by the Intracoastal Waterway, to the North by Kathryn Abbey Hannah Park and the Mayport Naval Station, and the south by Neptune Beach. Residents of Atlantic Beach routinely take advantage of all types of activities including outdoor biking, surfing, strolls along the beach, nautical escapes, kayak rentals and tours, the North Beaches Art Walk, Arts in the Park, the Atlantic Beach Experimental Theatre.

Beach access is convenient with 19 public beach access points along the coast. Parks and recreation are abundant with 14 public parks and preserves ranging from the beautiful Dutton Island Preserve overlooking the Intracoastal Waterway and its marshes, to the quaint Atlantic Beach Dog Park. The Wednesday Mid-Week Market is held every Wednesday from 3-6 pm at Bull Park, and includes veggies, fruit, bread, sweets and more.
